A Train of Thought

Sean Brandt

A Train of Thought is a photographic journey through a world in transition.

Created between 1990 and 1995, in the years immediately following the collapse of communism, these photographs record more than a passage through countries. They witness the psychological landscape of a historical rupture: old political systems disappearing, borders opening, identities being reconstructed, and people confronting the uncertain promise of freedom.

When walking down Brunswick Street heading away from the city, we are on the right hand side, after St. David Street, but before Greeves Street (before the Black Cat with the great palm tree on the corner).

Look for the brown heritage door in the cream archway amongst the shops. Press Buzzer 9 and then ‘bell’ symbol.

Walk up the flight of stairs to the first floor, turn right into the corridor, and then we are the first door on the right.
